A wedding string quartet is not only one of the most enjoyable and delectable of musical groups; it’s also the most flexible when it comes to having music at your wedding. Strings can set the right tone and atmosphere of any venue, enchanting your guests as each moment of your special day is complimented with sensitivity, grandeur, intimacy… 16 Strings is your Gold Coast & Brisbane wedding music string quartet.

We know that you want your wedding day to be special and unique to you. Our wide ranging repertoire includes classical, jazz and even pop, allowing you to choose the music that best reflects your style and taste.

Wedding Day Package Options

Wedding Ceremony

16 Strings String Quartet begins playing 15-mins before the wedding begins to create the perfect atmosphere for your guests as they arrive. The light classical music can give the occasion the sense of luxury and grandeur or the sound of jazz or pop can create the scene of celebration and excitement.

With the cue taken from the celebrant we will pause for a moment in anticipation of the arrival of the Bridal party and then begin to play your chosen music for the entrance of the Bride and Bridal party. Our extensive experience allows us to time the music perfectly to the Bride's arrival.

There is also an opportunity for you to have another song for the signing of the register. This can be classical, jazz or contemporary – whatever suits the moment.

As you exit the ceremony, we will play your chosen song just as soon as you begin your walk back down the aisle. This will bring the ceremony to a close.

Please Note: A wedding ceremony is normally considered a one hour booking. However, when making your string quartet booking understand one hour is from the time we start playing through to the 60th minute (eg. 2.30-3.30pm.) If the bride is planning on arriving ‘fashionably late’, this time will need to be allocated in your booking time. This may mean you will need to book the string quartet for an hour and a half. We have to make sure that we stick to our allocated booking time, as quite often we may have another wedding to attend on the same day.

If you're having a full nuptial mass wedding ceremony these normally are an hour for the actual ceremony not leaving time within the hour for pre entertainment. Therefore, if you wish to have 16 Strings String Quartet play before the ceremony as your guests arrive we will need to book us for 1.25 to 1.5 hours.

Also, if you’re having a beach wedding 16 Strings does not play on the sand as this can corrode our instruments. The closest to the sand that we will play is on a grassy area next to the beach.

Drinks Reception or After Ceremony Guest Entertainment
Are you planning on spending time with your guests once the ceremony is complete or having an afternoon tea, drinks or canapés for your guests? The background music of the string quartet will keep your guests entertained whilst you’re having photos taken. 16 Strings is quite happy to relocate (on foot and at the same venue) to another area and begin playing promptly after your ceremony ends.

Depending on how long this part of the wedding is, will vary on the time the string quartet is required. This can be discussed on booking.

Reception Dinner Entertainment
The String Quartet is a wonderful accompaniment to the reception as the guests arrive and whilst dinner is being served. Have a traditional classical sound or for something more upbeat with the sound of jazz or pop.

Please Note: If you have had 16 Strings String Quartet play for your ceremony as well as the reception, we quote from the time we start playing to the time we finish/leave. Therefore, if you require 16 Strings String Quartet to play at two different venues or there is a break between ceremony and reception (at the same venue) – the time spent waiting or travelling is quoted as if we were playing. We quote on our time.
