There is nothing more romantic then a string quaret at a wedding. Yes, it’s very traditional but 16 Strings has brought the old fashioned back into the 21st century by creating a modern string quartet by arranging songs that are on the modern charts but still have the romantic sound of the strings!! 16 Strings Gold Coast where invited to preform at the Bond University Open Day a couple of weekends a go.
A perfect Sunday sunny afternoon and the crowd enjoyed a mixture of pop and jazz pieces and MC’d by Jai Schelbach, owner of 16 Strings.
The Gold Coast string quartet is slightly unique to our other groups . Why? Because of the Double Bass playing the bass part. We wouldn’t say it is better, but it certainly brings a rich sound to the jazz pieces. So a BIG shout out to Danica Inglis for being an awesome musician!
But we mustn’t forget the other 2 amazing members Catherine Espirtu and Aya Shimizu who have been a part of the group when we first started back in 2007 so thanks girls for being ‘a part of the family!’
