Don’t Be Caught Up In The Busyness Of Life
Something a little different today…
It’s not wedding related (although this is a wedding blog) but thought I’d share it anyways because it’s ‘good food for thought’:
I was down at our local shopping centre today grabbing a coffee and as I was sitting down and taking a ‘selah’ moment, I noticed something a little strange. There was an elderly lady walking backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards (about 15 metres) – and in the time I was there she must have walked past me at least 10 times. I began to wonder what she was doing.
When I was leaving I went over to her and asked her if she was okay. Her answer was ‘No trouble, I like walking it’s passes the time”… I could have dug deeper, but she was quite happy to continue walking so I let her go…
This quick moment in my day made me stop and think about our my own life. We may be so caught up in our own busyness of life, that we may forget to stop and see if where we can lend a helping hand to someone else around us. Each day is a gift and as I get older I’m learning more and more that it’s important to ‘walk slowly through the crowd’.
Never lose the heart of concern for others, because one day you may just need it yourself.
